This morning I was reading about God giving Elisha a “double portion” blessing and it struck me just how much I have been blessed this spring at Mount Saint Mary’s. In my third year of being the play by play voice of both programs, I have seen each evolve into champions…in the same season. Remarkable really.
I had prayed about calling the championship games because it has been such a special year. Typically, conferences will “take over” all aspects of the championships including bringing in their own broadcasters. I had accepted this because it happens everywhere including in the Patriot League at Loyola where I call MWSoc & WBB. But on Monday morning, Mark Vandergrift, SID at The Mount emailed me with the great news! He said the NEC wanted me to do color for the championships. Perfect. So, on Thursday, May 2nd, I will be doing 4 consecutive games! Double portion times two! Thank you, God. I am so blessed and so grateful.
