What a season it has been for Coach Steve Nichols and his mighty men! They have won yet another Patriot League regular season title. That’s four in a row finishing 7-2 this year. Glenn Clark and I will be on the call Tuesday night. We have watched teams come and go thru the last 5 years. What’s different about this team? The talent has always been there no question. Steve Nichols knows how to recruit period. As I am rewatching Ted Lasso, I see the absolute need for team chemistry. This year’s team has the best team chemistry I have seen in the last 5 years. One other big difference is assistant coach and Loyola alum, Jamie Darvill. He is connecting with players and getting them to BELIEVE in each other and the team. I am going to send him the Ted Lasso locker room sign with BELIEVE on it. Tape it above the door and tap it on the way out.
It’s my prayer and greatest hope that these mighty men can bring home the Patriot League championship and go NCAA dancing for the first time under Coach Nichols.
